How does it work?Lines and wrinkles are a natural part of the ageing process, caused by the contraction of facial muscles below the surface of the skin. Anti-wrinkle injections are the simplest and most effective way to improve these lines as they relax the muscles that are responsible for forming them. The product used is a form of botulinum toxin that has been used medically in the UK since 1977 and within the cosmetic industry for over 20 years.

How long do results last? This treatment takes effect after 3-10 days and will typical last up to 12 weeks. Most regular clients will therefore undertake 3-4 treatments a year in order to maintain their results. If you have a treatment break or stop treatments altogether, previous lines and wrinkles will start to return.
-
What can I expect at my appointment?Treatment will always begin with a consultation to discuss what you'd like to achieve, a full medical history plus a facial analysis. We'll take some photos for your medical record and to allow us to assess your results. Treatment is usually well tolerated and comfortable, but we do have numbing cream available if needed. The procedure itself takes approximately 10-15 minutes. There will be slight redness and swelling for the first 30 minutes only - the vast majority experience no other downtime and can return straight to their daily activities. We ask that you don't wear make up, exercise or drink alcohol for 24 hours after your treatment. Effects begin to show between 3-10 days after treatment and full effect is usually at two weeks. We will invite you to a review appointment around this time to discuss your results and make any fine adjustments needed. This does not incur any extra charge.
-
Is this treatment painful? Most people will experience only minimal discomfort with these procedures. We will offer you numbing cream before your treatment, but most clients don't need it.
-
Is this the same as Botox?Botox is one of the brands used for anti wrinkle treatments but there are many others. Botox has become a catch-all term for the treatment, regardless of which brand is used.
-

You will only be recommended treatments that are safe and will work best for you. All treatment is carried out by a highly experienced fully registered doctor trained to manage any complications. Non surgical treatments are minimally invasive and therefore much safer than surgical alternatives. The products we use are rigorously tested and have a robust safety profile worldwide.
-

We'll take some photos for your medical record and to allow us to assess your results. The treatment itself will take between 30-60 minutes and the results are immediate. Afterwards you may experience some numbness from the anaesthetic and the area may feel slightly swollen. Minor reactions such as swelling and redness are common and usually take 12-24 hours to settle. There is a small risk of bruising which can take a few days longer to resolve. We ask that you avoid exercise, alcohol and anti inflammatories on the day of your treatment.

What is medical grade skincare? Also called cosmeceuticals, this is a category of specialist skincare products that are formulated with a higher concentration of ingredients compared to skincare products you'll find on the high street. They are more potent, meaning they work harder for your skin and produce better results. As you'll be seen by a doctor we can provide prescription only products where needed to treat more severe or troublesome skin concerns.
